How To Get Motivated

Hi Loves!

February is almost over! But like, how?!
January took a year, but February just flew by? I don't understand.
Now that we are finishing the second month of 2018 I'm feeling a bit sluggish. Can you relate? The other day we had the most beautiful day of 70 degrees here in NYC and I got to spend my entire lunch break outside without a jacket. Then, the very next day,  I'm bundled up on a cold rainy day. No thank you. I want spring to be here so I can wear cute clothes instead of hiding under sweaters that don't show off my muscular arms from going to the gym 3 days a week every week! No? Can't relate? No motivation? I got you boo! Here is a list of ways to get yourself motivated. Whatever your passion project is, we all come home after a long day of work wanting to just veg out and do absolutely nothing.
But that's not how we grow loves!

1. Just Do It, Like Nike.
Look, I know the feeling. You had a bad day at work, and you slept like crap the night before and are exhausted. When you have a project that needs to be done, you basically just need to suck it up and get started on whatever it is you are working on. It doesn't need to be perfect but you simply need to start. You can't just sit around waiting for inspiration and motivation to magically appear. If you can work 8 hours a day for someone else's dream, why can't you give yourself that same work ethic and do 1-2 hours of work?

2. Have A Clean Workspace.
I personally can't work or focus when things are a mess. I share an apartment with two other girls so I usually lock myself in my room to work. If there is laundry on the floor or my room is a complete mess, I cant focus. A clean and organized space helps me stay focused and not have anxiety over the mess I am surrounded by. I have to clean everything before I can even start, however, once I'm done cleaning I'm exhausted and just want to go to bed.
(P.S. I'm writing this post in my kitchen because my room is a mess... Just keeping it real!)
When you have a clean space, you save time and can focus more on your work.

3. Create A Comfortable Environment.
Whatever your creature comforts are, make it a priority for your workspace. When I write, I like to listen to relaxing coffee house type music and have a glass of wine. When I paint/draw I like to watch The Gilmore Girls on Netflix and have tea while burning incense. It's all about what makes you feel comfortable, happy, and helps keep you motivated and focused.

There really is no wrong way or right way to get yourself motivated. This is what works for me personally. There are multiple ways I keep myself motivated on my projects, so if this is something you would like to hear more of from me please let me know in the comments!
How do you get motivated?
